Reasons for taking drugs
The reasons for taking drugs vary from one person to another: having fun; acting like other people; impressing one’s friends; trying new experiences; rebelling against authority; battling boredom, loneliness, or certain other emotions; relieving stress; dealing with shyness. The quest for pleasure and the search for new sensations are the main reasons leading some young people to try drugs.
Forget all your problems?
People who take drugs to forget about their problems, avoid facing reality, or calm their feelings run more risk of developing dependency problems. Remember that, in the beginning, no addict ever thought he/she would be dependent on drugs one day.
