Mini pill 💊

The mini pill is a different hormonal method than the regular birth control pill since its composition is different. It doesn’t contain estrogen – only progestin.

It’s not recommended for teens since it has to be taken at very regular intervals to remain effective. It’s mainly for women over 35 who are breastfeeding or can’t absorb estrogen.

It can be prescribed by a medicine or, in Quebec, by a specialized nurse for a 6-month period.
