I won’t ask for help unless I reach rock-bottom


You risk sinking down farther and finding yourself in real distress, which will make it much harder for you to climb back out.


If you play down the situation (It’s not as bad as all that! or There are people who are worse off than me), that could stop you from getting help.

Physical signs to pay attention to:

  • Excessive fatigue
  • Insomnia
  • A lump in your throat
  • Stomach-ache
  • Loss or increase of appetite
  • Weight loss or gain
  • Muscle tension
  • Feeling like crying

Psychological signs to pay attention to:

  •  «I’m worthless»
  • «It’s hopeless»
  • «I’m alone in the world»
  • «Everybody hates me and it’s always my fault»
  • «I’m going to get my revenge»
  • «I want to hurt myself»
  • «I have suicidal thoughts»: contact Tel-jeunes right away; it’s important not to remain alone with your suicidal thoughts.
