Tel-jeunes is there for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Tel-jeunes was created in 1991.

Back then, the only way to reach a counsellor was over the phone. Over time, email was added, then chatting and texting. This service is free, confidential and available 24/7, 365 days a year. Since its foundation, Tel-jeunes has helped 1.8 million young people throughout Quebec.

The Tel-jeunes intervention model is based on “reality therapy”. Tel-jeunes’ professional counsellors don’t give ready-made answers or provide instant solutions. They work to equip young people with the tools they need to get better control over their lives. Guided by a counsellor, Tel-jeunes users are invited to reflect, leading them to choose behaviours that will help them meet their needs. It’s a personalized service, based on the “here and now.” Users will be able to apply the tools and strategies developed during the intervention over the long term.
