Cervical cap

The cervical cap is one of the barrier contraceptive methods. It isn’t advisable for teens as it’s not really suitable for their needs. It’s a flexible device made of silicone, shaped like a dome or bowl. It’s inserted into the vagina and placed at the top, over the cervix, to block access to sperm cells.

The cervical cap has a small handle to help insert it and remove it. However, it’s a bit complicated to insert and it demands an excellent knowledge of your body.

It’s available at drugstores, with a prescription from your doctor. ⚕️👩‍⚕️
